our world

One of our projects this year was to create a "world" cake.  We decided our world would be made of rice krispies...below are some pictures of our fun school project!

covering our world with water

grandma sandi came down to help out!

He's got the whole world  in his hand.  haha

she's got the whole world in her hands too!  great work by everyone!

Ethan was really looking forward to diggin' in....

We never would have guessed that the center of the world was made of rice krispies  :0)  Just kidding.....really, we are learning true facts while home schooling....honest.

GLEEEEANERS......

So the main idea at gleaners is to process the vegs so they can be dried and then packaged and made into soup mix to be sent around the world.  Gleaners is able to feed 25,000 people per day worldwide!  We are thrilled that we got to be part of this and see how it all comes togerher!  It really was a lot of fun and feels great to know we're helping out those who really are mal-nourished.
Jesse is a great worker!
Ethan had a couple of different jobs along with Maddie ~ he enjoyed making his rounds!

Madison was great at helping out!
Jenaya really cut em up!

boyz gone hunting (and fishing)

In Oct. the boys went on a two week hunting trip! Wow! what an excursion. Jason, Jesse and Perry all wondered way far away to a peaceful sort of place where they found solitude and joy in living the simple life....which means they had to work each day just to meet their own survival needs. It was an amazing time for Jason to be with Jesse and his dad. They came back refreshed and hope to do it again next year.

Today Ethan attended his first session as "patient getting fillings". Yes, plural. 4 fillings. And count em, he has 3 more to come. He did very well. At first he was fidgeting around while they were trying to freeze his little gums, but after that he FELL ALSLEEP. Thank God, because I was praying for that! I know Jason was praying too and so for most of it -- he slept.
They had suggested sedating him -- cuz of his age, but i didn't feel good about that, so we needed a little miracle and -- voila! God is faithful. He even cares about little ol me at the end of the dentist chair praying for my 4 year old son, who had cavities, probably because i didn't have him brush and floss his teeth enough! Talk about grace. I'm so thankful that it turned out this way today.
The kids are back in school and seeing how it's almost been a year since I've written, I thought now was a good time to say something. Jenaya and Jesse were both excited to get back to school and join their friends again. Jenaya is in grade 5 this year and Jess in grade 3.
